Prince William Street Reconstruction Project

Beginning May 20, 2014, the City of Saint John, through its contractor, TerraEx, will begin the Prince William Street Reconstruction Project.  The project involves installation of new water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and associated services. It also includes converting the overhead utilities to underground and full street reconstruction including new roadway granular material, concrete sidewalk, brick paver median, trees, granite curbing, decorative street lighting, and asphalt.

There will be planned water main shut downs required to complete the work. Notice will be given to residents and businesses as to when these shut downs are going to occur. If emergency water shut down occurs during construction residents and businesses will be notified immediately by the site representatives.

Through the majority of construction Prince William Street between Princess Street and Duke Street will be closed to through traffic. Residents and businesses will have access through construction. Safe passage for pedestrian traffic will be available at all times during construction.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of October 2014.
