Description: The pedestrian crossing light at the intersection of Waterloo Street and Union Street adjacent to Top's Pizza has sustained damage and will not be in operation until repairs are completed. Pedestrians may use the crosswalk on the opposite side of the street, adjacent to the Golden Ball building.

On behalf of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure


The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure wishes to advise the
public that both Route 1 Eastbound and Westbound passing lanes at the east
end of Harbour Bridge in Saint John will be closed to all traffic starting on
Monday, February 17 to Friday, February 21, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This work is necessary to allow replacement of guide rails on the median. The travelling public should expect delays in the area, especially during peak hours.

The above noted date is subject to weather and wind conditions. For most
current travel information please consult NB511.

Construction signage will be in place. The Department of Transportation and
Infrastructure apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. The department reminds motorists to reduce speed and drive safely.

Traffic Advisory: Full Closure – Reversing Falls Bridge

The Reversing Falls Bridge will be fully closed to all traffic for a 12-hour period overnight tonight, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16 until Friday, January 17 at 6:00 a.m.  The Bridge sidewalk will remain accessible to pedestrians during this time. 

The Bridge will reopen to one lane of traffic in the morning, Friday, January 17 at 6:00 a.m. until the morning of Monday, January 20. Temporary traffic lights will be in place to allow for alternating east and west-bound traffic during this time.

Description of work: This closure is required for crews to work efficiently and safely on infrastructure maintenance near the bridge.

Motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly, take alternate routes when possible, reduce speeds in construction zones, observe signage, and drive safely. Work commencement and completion times are subject to change and are weather permitting.
