About the Facebook Photo Blitz

Gabriel Ludlow, our resident photo enthusiast, is collecting photos of Saint John Neighbourhoods. But he’s got a lot of ground to cover. Over 30 neighbourhoods! So he is calling on our #mysaintjohn Facebook friends to help collect the photos he needs for his albums.

Gabriel has four Facebook Albums; one for North, East, South and West. Within each of these four areas of Saint John, there are a number of neighbourhoods. Gabriel is aiming to have photos from each one by the end of summer! Check out the map to identify all the neighbourhoods he’s collecting photos for.

What should I take photos of?

Your photo will capture what you consider to be the best and most unique aspects of your neighbourhood. It could be a photo of your children playing at the neighbourhood park. Your dog taking the lead along his favourite footpath. The shaded canopy of a tree-lined street.   A view of the river, harbour or your favourite beach. Even your neighbourhood block party. Just be sure that each individual featured in your photo has given his or her consent to be photographed.

How do I submit my neighbourhood photo?

Go to the City’s Facebook Page and upload your photo onto the thread pinned to the top, or email it to . Be sure to indicate the specific location where the photograph was taken.

About the Neighbourhoods

While Saint Johners have historic names for their neighbourhoods, Gabriel has to be sure to capture each of the neighbourhoods identified by Statistics Canada. Check out the map to identify yours. Do you know your neighbourhood by another name? Let us know.

Your photos will be enjoyed by our Facebook followers and may be used in other digital channels such as the City’s website and promotional material. Credit to photographers will be given, of course, but forms of compensation are not included!
Be sure to get your friends and family involved. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

*By submitting your photo(s), you are granting the City of Saint John the unrestricted right, in its sole discretion, to publish, without any compensation, the name, picture, portrait, likeness, and ideas of the entrant for publication, advertising and promotional purposes.

My Saint John Videos

Let's keep the conversation going and share what sets Saint John apart from anywhere else in the world.

We are asking Saint John citizens to tell us why. Why Saint John? Why do we love it here? What makes the City special like no other? Is it our love of the water, neighbourhoods and nature? Is it because of our family and friends? Is it the cherished memories that are a part of our history? Is it the job that sets the course for our future? Or that familiarity and feeling of being home?

Watch, like, comment on, tag an out-of-town friend and share the #mysaintjohn videos that will be featured on the City of Saint John Facebook and Twitter pages.

Don’t just tell us – tell others. Share the Saint John love with those you know around the world. Show others how proud we are to call #mysaintjohn home, and let them know we welcome them, with open arms, to make the move here.
