A thank-you message from the Saint John EMO

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Saint John! We are so proud of the response from our City crews, first responders, partner agencies and you, our citizens, in the collective effort to keep each other informed and safe through the impacts of Hurricane Dorian.

While we are saddened by the damages and number of beautiful trees that have fallen in areas across the City (especially those that stood so strong and tall in our treasured public squares) we are fortunate to have come through the storm safely.

The clean-up efforts are expected to take time; an exact amount is unknown today, but we will get there together through a safe, prioritized and planned approach.

We extend our thoughts for a safe recovery to our neighbours in Nova Scotia, particularly the City of Halifax, and other parts of the Maritimes who woke up to much worse devastation this morning.

The road to recovery will take time, and we are in it together. Stay safe.
