City flags fly at half-mast as Canadians mourn the passing of Lieutenant Governor Jocelyne Roy Vienneau

02-Aug-2019

(Saint John, NB) The City of Saint John joins fellow New Brunswickers and all Canadians in sympathy and respect to mourn the passing of Lieutenant Governor Jocelyne Roy Vienneau, Friday, August 2, 2019.

Her Honour was the 31st Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick and in her role championed a wide variety of public service causes in support of a broad spectrum of charitable and non-profit organizations and initiatives.  In fact, the Lieutenant Governor announced her illness publicly at a Run for the Cure in Fredericton in the spring of 2018.

She had a distinguished career and continued to fulfill her leadership responsibilities as the Queens representative in NB on behalf of all New Brunswickers.  Her work and her life represent an enduring legacy of pride in this province and its people and as a lesson in how much we can accomplish when we unite and work together.

Please join us in honouring the life of Lieutenant Governor Jocelyne Roy Vienneau and extending our deepest sympathies to her family and friends.
