City of Saint John expresses condolences on the passing of Mr. Patrick (Pat) Darrah

12-Jun-2020

On behalf of Mayor Don Darling, Common Council, staff and citizens of the City of Saint John, we wish to express our sincere condolences on the passing of Mr. Patrick (Pat) Darrah. Once referred to as "Saint John's best known volunteer," Mr. Darrah was recognized for his contributions when he was honoured with the Order of New Brunswick in 2011, and again in 2014 when he was presented with the Order of Canada.

Mr. Darrah’s contributions have touched all aspects of the Saint John community – business, economic, social and cultural well-being. He often spoke publicly about the importance of giving back to the community, and committed much of his life to making Saint John and our Province a better, richer place to live. A biography highlighting his years of contributions can be found on the Province of New Brunswick's Order of New Brunswick website: www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/corporate/promo/order_of_new_
