City of Saint John holiday weekend hours and important service updates

Citizens are advised of the following changes to schedules and services during the Victoria Day weekend (May 16-18). Beginning Tuesday, May 19, City facilities will transition to limited openings and service enhancements.

The City of Saint John encourages continued compliance with all public health recommendations for a happy and safe long weekend.

reopen

Keeping recreational facilities open and safe for visitors that respect provincial orders and health guidelines is a shared responsibility. Everyone must do their part to ensure we can keep these facilities open.

The Market remains open to provide grocery sales and other food services. Vendor operating hours are posted daily at www.saintjohn.ca/coronavirus.

Happy Birthday, Saint John!
Join in the virtual celebrations as Saint John celebrates its 235th Birthday.
Each year, the United Empire Loyalists Association receives a Community Arts grant to recognize the anniversary of Saint John’s charter. They normally hold with an outdoor celebration. This year, they commissioned Shannon Webb-Campbell, a mixed-Indigenous (Mi'kmaq) settler poet, writer, and critic currently based in Saint John to create a poem in honour of the City’s 235th Anniversary. Facility re-openings and service updates


City Hall Cashier’s Office

The Cashier’s Office in the pedway of City Hall will open for business (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), beginning Tuesday, May 19. Users are reminded to allow for extra time to ensure physical distancing requirements..

One-Stop Development Shop
If required, in-person service at the City’s One-Stop Development Shop is available by appointment only beginning May 19. Please call 658-2911. Virtual delivery of services also continues to be an option. 

Saint John Parking Commission
The Saint John Parking Commission will continue to operate its customer service counter from the Peel Plaza Parking Garage on Carleton Street for all payments and inquiries. The counter is open from 8:30 – 4:00 p.m. daily, except weekends and holidays. Customers can also call 632-7275.

City Hall Building and Pedway
City Hall Building and City Hall Pedway including: the Cashier’s Office, City Hall mall level and door from City Hall to Rocky’s Sports Bar, will open May 19. Access to Saint Patrick Pedway as well as the Canada Games Aquatic Centre Pedway will remain closed to the public. Public access to City Hall, the Cashier’s Office, Rocky’s Sports Bar will be through “The Shoppes of City Hall” entrance door located off Chipman Hill. The public is reminded to observe physical distancing, proper hygiene and all signage.
