City of Saint John – Results of Last Night’s North-East-West Parking Ban

20-Jan-2020

Last night, the City of Saint John declared its first North-East-West Parking Ban of the year. While we did see some compliance, a number of vehicles were not moved off the streets. As a result, 64 tickets were issued and 36 vehicles were towed.

A North, East and West Temporary Overnight Parking Ban is declared when snow clearing is required. All vehicles must be moved off the street between midnight and 7:00 a.m. Vehicles that remain parked on the street during an overnight parking ban will be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense.

Citizens have a responsibility to secure off-street parking and to seek information on when parking bans are declared. To ensure safe and efficient snow clearing operations, parking ban enforcement will continue as the winter progresses and more bans are called. The City thanks citizens for their cooperation as crews work to clear the snow and keep our streets safe.
