City of Saint John seeks seasonal vendors for Loyalist Plaza and Water Street

03-Mar-2020

Experienced vendors interested in setting up shop within Loyalist Plaza and along Water Street this summer are being asked to submit a proposal to the City of Saint John. Within the request for expressions of interest, the City has identified potential for a semi-permanent beer garden in Loyalist Plaza, along with bike rental operators, food and beverage operators, temporary public art, and other merchants.

“Locals and visitors are looking for a dynamic street experience within the uptown,” says Saint John Night Market Manager, Andrew MacDonald. “We are excited to see these public spaces reimagined.”

The City has been working with EXP Architects on a preliminary vision for the space that will build on the momentum of revitalization currently taking shape within the Water Street corridor. The open-air market will aim to enhance the surrounding public spaces of the Market Square Boardwalk and Harbour Passage and support local uptown events such as Area 506 and the Moonlight Bazaar.

Vendors have until Thursday, March 19, 2020 to submit their proposals. The City of Saint John aims to have vendors in place by June.

The Request for Expressions of Interest can be found on the Tenders and Proposals section of the City’s website.
