City of Saint John set to open beaches with lifeguard service, select ball fields and multi-purpose facilities

02-Jul-2020

Patrons of all these facilities are reminded that it is a shared responsibility to follow all guidelines of the Chief Medical Officer of Health and adhere to all signage and operational plans, where required. Everyone must do their part so these facilities can be enjoyed and remain open and safe for public use.

Beaches

Beginning Saturday, July 4, City beaches at Lily Lake, Fisher Lakes, Dominion Park, and Little River Reservoir will be open with lifeguard services in place.

Mispec Beach is also open for public use.   Canaport LNG is thanked for once again donating the washroom facilities. Patrons are asked to be cautious accessing this beach until the stairs are repaired and in place.

All five beaches will be open Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. during the summer.

City of Saint John Safety Ambassadors will be monitoring all five beaches, reminding visitors to follow guidelines of the Chief Medical Officer of Health.  Please respect their instructions; they are helping keep us all safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.  On-site signage with instructions will also be posted and must be followed in order for these public areas to remain open and safe for everyone.

Arena

The City of Saint John has opened the Stewart Hurley Arena for an exclusive license until the end of September. Please contact Andy Bezeau at (506) 607-4180. The City will not be booking ice at this facility.
