City of Saint John will implement a Recreation Card Program for City arenas this fall

11-Jul-2019

The City of Saint John is currently taking steps to implement a non-resident user fee to support the operational costs associated with City arenas. Approved by Saint John Common Council on June 17, 2019, the non-resident user fees will be implemented as a phased approach, beginning in the fall of 2019.

The non-resident user fee will be implemented through the purchase of a City of Saint John Recreation Card. The Recreation Card will be required for use by regular arena users, both City residents and non-residents. Regular arena users include all individuals, adults or youth, who are members of associations, leagues or teams that rent ice from the Stewart Hurley Arena, Charles Gorman Arena, Hilton Belyea Arena, Peter Murray Arena, and the Lord Beaverbrook Rink. Fees for the Recreation Card will only apply to non-resident users.

Recreation Cards will be made available through the City of Saint John.  More details will be available in the coming weeks.

Fee structures to support investment in other City recreational facilities will be reviewed at a later date.
