Saint John Mayor Ivan Court gives State of the City Address

Saint John Mayor Ivan Court gave his first State of the City address today in the Council Chambers.  After a year in office, Mayor Court summarized many of the achievements of the last year and some of the goals and challenges for the future.

“I believe it is essential to do a State of the City address once a year in order to share with our citizens what we have accomplished each year and to look ahead at our community’s future,” said Mayor Court.  “We have achieved many milestones as a City this past year, and I look forward to continuing to work together with Common Council, all levels of government, industry partners and our citizens on continuing our success.”

Mayor Court summarized progress that has been made under each of Common Council’s 10 priorities and presented some of his own highlights from his first year as Mayor.  He also included many highlights and accomplishments from various departments, and presented some of the challenges that lie ahead.

Rogers TV will webcast the address live at www.rogerstv.ca.  The address will also be televised on Monday May 25 at 8pm on Rogers Cable 10.
