Hydrant Flushing -- South, Central and North

The City of Saint John is proceeding with a program of fire hydrant flushing to clean the water distribution pipes in Saint John.

Over the next few weeks flushing will be performed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

This may affect water customers in the areas of:

  • the South-Central peninsula
  • Haymarket Square
  • Douglas Avenue
  • north and south of the Saint John Throughway
  • north of the Sandy Point Rd.
  • intersection at Millidge Ave. and Somerset St (including the neighbourhoods and subdivisions off Boar’s Head Rd., Woodward Ave., University Ave., and Kennebecasis Drive)

Customers may experience dirty water for up to 20 minutes if they use water during the time that the line on their street is being flushed.  Though customers may encounter a drop in water pressure, at no time should they be without water.
