New LED lights being installed at Rainbow Park

31-Mar-2020

Brand new LED lighting is being installed in Rainbow Park along the pathways and around the new Jumpstart Playground structure. As part of the Central Peninsula Neighbourhood Plan’s Capital Improvement Program, the lighting will provide an added safety feature during evening use of the park.

While all City play structures remain closed, park users are asked to adhere to any additional safety measures put in place by the contractors on site during the installation. Work is expected to take four to six weeks to complete.

Located in Saint John’s South Central Peninsula, Rainbow Park is a year-round hub for recreation featuring an accessible playground, splash pad, community garden, memorial green space for shade, reflection and quiet play, accessible pathways and washroom facilities.

This work falls within the scope of allowable construction during the Provincial State of Emergency and will be carried out under the safety recommendations and directives from public health officials.
