Pack out what you pack in – keeping our parks litter free is a shared responsibility

03-Jun-2020

The City reminds park and trail users to please pack out what you pack in and dispose of waste wisely.

More users than ever are discovering and using our beautiful parks and public spaces, and we want to encourage this use. It is important for us all to remain active and healthy. However, when park use increases, so does the amount of waste. Due to increased park usage, and fewer summer staff this year, we are not able to service all garbage cans as usual. Some cans typically located within trails and other areas have been removed and are now placed in more accessible spots for crews to access. When you enter one of our parks, please take note of where any available garbage cans are located. If you are packing a picnic or snack to enjoy, or cleaning up after your dog, please plan to “pack out” your waste when you leave by placing it in an available garbage can or taking it with you. This will help us keep our parks clean for everyone.
