Peace Park Opens on Saturday

Citizens are invited to attend the dedication ceremony and official unveiling of 22 Bravo Landing and the Pte David Greenslade Peace Park. Located adjacent to the Romeo and Juliette ferry landing in Millidgeville, the park honours the memory of Pte David Greenslade of Saint John, who died with five other soldiers on April 8th, 2007 while serving in Afghanistan.

All six of the soldiers were from the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment based out of CFB Gagetown, NB. Six trees have been planted in the park in their memory.

The ceremony begins at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2013. The park is the result of a partnership among David’s parents, community members, the City of Saint John, the Province of New Brunswick and the Royal Canadian Regiment.
