Province of New Brunswick provides advice for Halloween and Thanksgiving

02-Oct-2020

The Government of New Brunswick has now shared some COVID-19 considerations with respect to Thanksgiving and Halloween on their website.

For quick reference, see the following guidance documents:
Halloween Guidance
Thanksgiving Guidance

Participation in Halloween activities is a personal choice and the City of Saint John will not impose additional measures or direction above that provided by provincial authorities. The direction and guidelines by the Province will be, in part, dependent on the overall phase in which the Province finds itself on October 31.

Those who wish to participate in Halloween through “trick or treating” must adhere to the requirements within the Mandatory Order and the guidelines of the Chief Medical Officer of Health. Those who wish to host or attend gatherings must also follow provincial direction and guidelines. These measures have been taken to protect the health and safety of our communities.

We ask those who wish to “trick or treat” to respect the personal choice of any household that does not wish to participate in the event.
