Traffic Advisory: Rothesay Avenue (from Russell Street to McLean Street)

Motorists are advised of the following traffic interruptions:

Streets: Rothesay Avenue from Russell Street to McLean Street

Date: Monday, March 5, 2018 to Friday, March 9, 2018

Time: 24 hrs/daily

Duration: 5 days

Direction: Port City Water Partners will be reducing Rothesay Avenue to one lane of traffic in both directions at Russell Street from the overpass to McLean Street. The current east bound lanes will be closed in this area. Traffic turning south from Rothesay Avenue to Russell Street will be intermittently reduced to one lane with traffic control in place.

Traffic will be slowed at the intersection of Rothesay Avenue and Russell Street.

Specific Area: Rothesay Avenue and Russell Street intersection.

Access: Businesses within the construction zone are open and will remain accessible to the public while the work is underway.

The road will also remain accessible to emergency service vehicles and local area residents.

Description of Work: Port City Water Partners will be completing hydro vac excavation work to verify underground services which is required to rehabilitate the existing water transmission mains, as part of the construction phase of the City of Saint John’s Safe Clean Drinking Water Project.

Motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly, reduce speeds in construction zones, observe signage, and drive safely. Work commencement and completion times are subject to change. Weather permitting.
