Traffic Services Advisory -- Rothesay Road and Rothesay Avenue

CN Rail: Construction at the Intersection of Rothesay Road and Rothesay Avenue will require a complete road closure beginning at 8 am April 21, 2012 and re-opening on the evening of April 22, 2012.

Motorists are requested to revise their travel route or to follow the detour signs that will be in place to safely direct them toward their desired destination. Traffic delays are likely. The closure and detours are required to protect workers and the motoring public while work is being done on the overhead train bridge structure. Please allot extra time for travel around Fox Farm Road (Exit 133) and Rothesay Avenue (Exit 129).

For traffic traveling east on Rothesay Avenue there will be a sign in place to notify that access to Rte. 100/Rothesay Road is closed and to advise the motoring public to follow a detour down Ashburn Road to Rte. 1 and then to take Exit 129.

Traffic that continues on or collects onto Rothesay Avenue will be diverted onto Rte. 1 East with detour signs. In advance of Fox Farm Road/Exit 133, traffic following the detour and attempting to access Rte. 1 West or Rothesay Road/Rte. 100 will be directed to exit. At Fox Farm Road, motorists will be directed to take a left to Rte. 1 West or straight to Rothesay Road. /Rte. 100.

Motorists heading westbound desiring access to Rothesay Road/Rte. 100 and taking Exit 129 will be diverted to Rothesay Avenue and then to Ashburn Road and to proceed on to Rte. 1 East to take Exit 129 East to Rothesay Road /Rte. 100.

Motorists heading east on Rte. 1 will see a sign indicating that access to Rothesay Avenue via Exit 129 is closed and be advised to take Exit 128 onto Ashburn Road. Motorists who fail to take the detoured route and take Exit 129 will be detoured down Rothesay Road to Fox Farm Road and then onto Rte. 1 westbound and then take Exit 129 West.

Motorists heading west on Rothesay Road/Route 100 seeking to access Rothesay Avenue or Route 1 eastbound will be directed on to Rte. 1 westbound and proceed onto Crown Street Exit 125 and then left onto Crown Street. Traffic will then be directed to the right towards City Road, once there to the right again.

Traffic wishing to access Route 1 eastbound will be directed back to Crown Street and then down the exit for Route 1 eastbound. Motorists wishing to access Rothesay Avenue will be directed straight down City Road until it turns into Rothesay Avenue.
