Know the “rules of road”

The “rules of the road” for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists in Saint John come from the Province of New Brunswick’s Motor Vehicle Act.

The City of Saint John’s Traffic By-Law provides additional regulations for the streets, from parking to speed limits. Both laws work together to outline how drivers, cyclists and pedestrians are required to behave when using our streets and highways.

Not knowing that it’s against the law, or what your rights and responsibilities are under these two laws is no excuse. To learn more, visit http://laws.gnb.ca/en/ShowTdm/cs/M-17// and saintjohn.ca/traffic.
