Update – Post-tropical storm Erin

UPDATED: 10 a.m. | August 29, 2019

With the tropical storm system now tracking northeastward through the Bay of Fundy, heavy rains and gusty winds are expected in the Saint John region on Thursday. Total rainfall amounts up to 60mm are expected.

Crews have completed checks of all priority catch basins and are prepared to respond to any localized flooding.

The impacts of the storm are projected to peak mid-afternoon in our area. Localized flooding is likely to occur in low-lying areas. Motorists are advised to use caution, particularly during their afternoon commute, and to observe all barricades and road closures.

Police will ticket motorists driving on closed roads. Driving through flood waters can increase damage to homes in the area.
