Winter Storm Updates

Saint John City Hall, administrative offices and other non-essential services will be closed until noon on Monday, January 21. This includes the Saint John City Market and City-operated arenas.

Road conditions will be evaluated mid-morning and any further closures to these services will be communicated.

The safety of our employees and those in our community is a priority. The City encourages all businesses and organizations within the municipality to consider delaying staff arrival times for non-essential services.

Flooding and road closures:

Flooding and ice conditions across the City continue to present a challenge for City crews and all first responders. People are being urged to stay off the roads.

There are vehicles stranded in flooded areas across the City, and the Saint John Police Force and Saint John Fire Department have responded to a number of accidents without injuries. They will continue to respond to emergency calls only at this time. For emergencies, call 911.

Crews and first responders are working collaboratively to maintain emergency access to the Saint John Regional Hospital.

The list of road closures across the City is growing. Citizens have been reporting flooded areas on our Facebook posts to warn others. We appreciate the collaboration as the amount of flooding has made it difficult for operations to keep up with a complete list.

The rain is expected to end around midnight and temperatures are expected to drop.

Stay safe, Saint John!
