Public Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of The City of Saint John intends to consider adopting a By-law respecting the Regulation of Parking in The City of Saint John at its regular meeting to be held in the Council Chamber on Monday, January 27, 2020.

Factors have initiated the need to consolidate and update the Saint John Parking Meter By-law enacted in 2004:

  • 15 amendments have been made to the by-law since enactment.Incorporating these amendments into the by-law makes the document clear, especially for voluntary compliance and enforcement purposes.

  • With the enactment of the Local Governance Act, the by-law needed to be updated to comply with the new requirements set out in the legislation such as the introduction of Administrative Penalties and the issuance of Penalty Notices for violations of said by-law.

The proposed amendment may be inspected by any interested person at the office of the Common Clerk, City Hall, 15 Market Square, Saint John, NB between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, inclusive, holidays excepted.

The proposed By-Law respecting the Regulation of Parking in The City of Saint John may be read in summary only if no member of Council objects.
