Saint John Heritage Conservation Areas By-Law (By-Law HC-1)

Public Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of The City of Saint John intends to consider amending the Saint John Heritage Conservation Areas By-Law (By-Law HC-1) at its regular meeting to be held in the Ludlow Room, City Hall, on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 6:30 p.m., by:

 

Revising provisions and definitions regarding new development (infill construction and major additions) in Heritage Conservation Areas, affecting all properties designated as being in a Heritage Conservation Area as defined through Schedules A through J inclusive; 

Updating the definition of ‘heritage conservation area’ to support the implementation of the Local Historic Places policy; and, 

Removing the property at 249 Douglas Avenue, also identified as PID No. 00379255, from the Douglas Avenue Heritage Conservation Area.

 

REASON FOR CHANGE: 

To provide new standards and process for infill development and major additions; to support the implementation of the Local Historic Places policy; and, to remove a property from a Heritage Conservation Area.

The proposed amendment may be inspected by any interested person at the office of the Common Clerk, or in the office of Growth and Community Development Services, City Hall, 15 Market Square, Saint John, N.B. between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, inclusive, holidays excepted.

Written objections to the amendment may be sent to the undersigned at City Hall.
